Dirty Dancing For the Kiddies

contreversial_dancingThere’s a school in the news right now that is having to defend it’s cancellation of all school dances because the children refuse to stop pelvic grinding.

Amazingly, it’s the children’s parents who are arguing and complaining with the school’s decision.

Message to these parents:  Schools have rules.

If you think it’s cute for the kids to dry-hump eachother, rent your own hall or have these dances at your house. Bettter yet, ask your folks if the gandkids can come “hook up” at their place.

Clubbin’ It

I passed on a bulletin with graphic pictures of cute little babys seals with smashed heads and skinned bodies.

It’s one of the most repulsive things Ive ever seen done to animals. Now, I havent read up on the seal clubbing thing and dont know the arguments for and against it.

But I wonder really if they know what hit em?  Is it painful? It looks brutal.

Overall, when people get knocked over the head extremely hard, they go unconsious or die – pain doesnt come until you wake up.

Another thought,….what if these were tarantulas or snakes?  Think people would have the same reaction? Is it the cute factor which makes this act so repulsive?

If it was up to me, I would ban this barbaric “sport”,  as we dont need them for food or clothing.  Im not a big supporter of killing animals for sport or for their skins.

Late Night With Babs

Insomnia.  Sore throat.  Boredom.  Muggy humid night.

I couldnt sleep so I flopped on the couch and hit the On Demand button, and went to the Free Movies category.

There wasnt anything really there I havent  seen before, all the stuff they offer for free is old and my DVD collection is over 600 – Ive just seen everyrthing………….

Well, apparently not everything.  There was one movie staring at me from the On Demand screen, …………provoking me, double-daring me to hit the Enter button:

The movie was title, “THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES”

I figured why not, maybe it’ll put me to sleep.

Im not against chick flicks (I liked Something’s Gotta Give and Serendipity), but Barbara Streisand gets under my skin.  Her abnoxious puerile political views irk the shit out of me.

I hit Enter anyway.

And I watch it.

Im now questioning my sanity, because…………………….well, I liked it. It was pretty good movie.

And what’s worse, (oh man I must need sleep or something), ………..but at the end of the movie when she loads on the make-up and dyes her hair blonde - she was actually kinda HOT!

Oh , someone beat some sense into me.

Anyone have the number for a good shrink?

Drunk Driving: Solution

We are told that the reason 2 beers in 1 hour is illegal, is because it slows our reflexes 1/10th of a second.

While scientifically true – using this benchmark for safety purposes is pure nonsense.

219790580_42b760a7e7We do know that politicians always are looking for  ways to infuse large amounts of cash in the State treasury.  Lowering the legal limit on drinking to .08 guarantees a massive increase in collectable fines.

If our saftey is really the important motivating factor to our caring leaders of public service, there would be a much more logical approach.

A fair approach to protecting citizens on the roads is to scrap the concept of driving under the influence, and subject all drivers to a STANDARD REFLEX AND COORDINATION TEST.

It doesnt matter if your old, young, man, woman, drunk, high, or completely sober……….you must pass a standard test which tells if you are capable of driving without being a risk to others.

I know if I have two beers, I am still a damned site more coordinated and faster than the handicappers and 70 year olds (insert your favorite bad-driver stereotype here)..

No I dont have a DUI, I just happen to notice police hanging around bar parking lots.

Heath Care Costs: Solution

It occured to me what the problem with healthcare costs are.

Simply put, the health care industry isnt based on “what the market will bear.

Like most goods or services, prices are based on what the consumer can reasonably afford to pay.   GM cant sell an Impala for $100,000 because no one would buy it.  The consumer would instead just buy a Ford Escort for $16k.

gcun20lThe problem with healthcare is that there are 3rd parties (governement aid and Health Insurance companies) who are paying unreasonable and very high costs to hospitals, doctors, and drug companies.  Inflated invoices are being paid not by the consumer, but coming from a deep collective well.

Dismantle HMO’s and I think the problem would be largely solved.

Just a thought.

I realize this would put alot of people out of work, but really are these people’s employment in this field part of this problem anyway?

Myspace Boobies

“Ohh look at me!  Look at me!  See my titties!  See?  Nice huh?  You cant have, Im married!”

It’s clear why divorce rates are so high.

All you have to do is browse female profiles for 10 minutes and count all the “in a relationship” and “married” women who post photos of themselves in scantily clad provocative poses.

Im inclined to think that these women have emotional issues and are man-trolling behind their hubbys’ back.

I dont care if Im out of synch with the times, I personally lose a certain amount of respect for women in relationships who striptease for attention.

Im speaking from strictly observing and reading people’s blogs. I also see that many of these married cyber-teases create headlines, comments, or surveys, disparraging men because their always being hit on.
